" The different functions  must be connected to each other. This connection can be made by means of a link. The connection is strong, but flexible, with a dam as the center. The Antonius Abtkerk will again be the dam van Volkel, just as it used to be. Volkel is brought together again in the church, with the focus on the elderly and young people. In the design, the upper floors are literally connected to each other, with a dam in the middle (the elevator). the functions must also be linked, to each other and to Volkel. For this, the switching square is also involved. Because this is also linked with the church, an open and welcome feeling is created, with the end result that the whole of Volkel comes together.
